Short answer

The ClickUp Timesheets Hub lists tracked time by task or by date. Owners and admins can open everyone's timesheets. Basic time entries are unlimited on Unlimited. Editing time from a timesheet is an advanced action: 40 uses on Free and Unlimited, 100 on Business, and unlimited on Business Plus and Enterprise. Approvals start on Business.

ClickUp timesheets are the weekly record of time already tracked on tasks. The timer and the manual entry live on the task. Timesheets Hub is where you review that time, fix a missing hour, and, on the right plan, send the week to someone for approval.

Help is explicit that timesheet features and their plan limits can change, and that ClickUp may let you try the newer timesheet tools with unlimited usage on any plan for a limited time. The tables below are the published limits on the time tracking availability page. Treat a temporary trial as a trial. Prices in this guide were checked in October 2026. The broader timer setup is in ClickUp time tracking, and the product index is the ClickUp hub.

What is the ClickUp Timesheets Hub?

Open Timesheets from Global Navigation. If it is not there, open More and select it, then pin it so it stays. The date range moves with the arrows, or by clicking the dates.

My timesheet has two layouts, switched in the upper right:

LayoutWhat it lists
TimesheetTime by task for the range. Expand a task to see each entry. This is the default
Time entriesTime by date. Expand a date to see the tasks logged that day

Task location sits under the task name. Click the total, or the hours on a date, to edit that entry. Hover a date for capacity, tracked time split into billable and non-billable, and remaining or over capacity.

Filters under the date range narrow the sheet by billable status, time-tracking tag, amount of tracked time, and archived tasks. On the All timesheets tab, an All members dropdown also filters by person or Team. Sort by Date added or Task name. Click the sort a second time to reverse it.

Workspace holidays and other organization-wide non-working days show a total capacity of 00h 00m. Time you still log on those dates stays visible and counts as tracked time, so the day can look over capacity. Those dates come from the Workspace work schedule. Personal Time Off is a different record: one person's availability, not the company calendar. Capacity planning on a calendar is Workload view.

How do you add or edit time on a timesheet?

The start button to the right of a task starts a timer, and Help says that timer always tracks the current day. To type time instead, click the cell for a date and enter the amount.

There is a specific adding rule. If a cell already has time, the number you type is the new total, and ClickUp creates a new entry for the difference. Help's example: a cell with 1 hour, you type 2 hours, and a new 1-hour entry is added. You are not overwriting the original entry. Hover the cell and use Add entry if you want the full time-tracking form instead.

The ellipsis on a time entry row can change the date, move the entry to another task, remove it from the task, or delete it. Remove from task does not delete the hours. It files them under a "No task selected" category on the sheet. Delete row, from the ellipsis in the Total column, deletes every entry on that task.

Billable state, tags, and a note sit on the row. In the Time entries layout, the same facts are columns: Description, Billable, and Tags. Marking time billable, adding a description, and adding a tag are advanced time-tracking actions, so they count against the advanced cap below. A practical billing week is in how to track billable hours.

Your own weekly capacity is the settings icon, then Weekly Hours, then Save. Owners and admins can set someone else's capacity from All timesheets: hover the name, open the settings icon, set the capacity, save. A daily capacity control is documented on Business Plus and above. Our price data does not list a Business Plus dollar amount.

Which plan includes ClickUp timesheet features?

Help splits ordinary time entries from advanced ones. Creating, editing, or deleting a time entry is the ordinary set. Doing that from a timesheet, editing someone else's entry, adding a description or tag, marking time billable, and tracking time with no task are the advanced set.

Unlimited is unlimited for a basic entry. It is not unlimited for the timesheet editing tools agencies use every Friday. A team that rewrites hours from the Hub, tags client work, or marks entries billable will hit 40 uses on Unlimited. Business raises that to 100. Business Plus and Enterprise remove the cap.

Time tracked through an integration counts toward the same limits. Time entries created by Brain or Super Agents count too. Brain is the AI add-on. Our data prices that add-on from $9 per user per month. You do not need it to run timesheets.

Our list prices, checked October 2026: Free Forever is $0, Unlimited is $7 per user per month billed annually ($10 monthly), and Business is $12 per user per month billed annually ($19 monthly). Enterprise is custom. See ClickUp pricing before you pick a tier for the approval workflow.

Who can submit, view, and approve timesheets?

Help's approval FAQ adds two practical lines. Anyone with access to timesheets can submit their time. Admins and owners can see every entry and can edit entries that are locked or already approved. Members approve only the sheets where they are named as approvers.

How do timesheet approvals work?

An owner or admin turns approvals on from the Approvals tab: Setup timesheet approvals, a due date and time, optional reminders before and after that deadline, then the people who submit and the people who approve. Approvers are chosen per submitter. You can finish the people step later.

Submission is Submit for approval, then a review of the hours, then Submit. Entries lock. The status next to the date range is one of three:

StatusCan the submitter edit?
PendingNo. The sheet is waiting for review
Changes neededYes. An approver asked for a correction
ApprovedNo. The sheet is approved

To fix a pending sheet before anyone reviews it, withdraw it from the Approvals sidebar. If the approver already requested changes, edit the hours and submit again, choosing the previous sheet under Resubmit previous. Approvers can approve or request changes from the Review column or from the open sheet, and they can approve several at once with Approve all. An approved sheet can be reopened. Help says reopen sets the status back to Changes needed and unlocks it.

Comments sit in a sidebar on the open sheet. Submitters are notified of new comments, of reminders before the deadline, after the due time, and when the sheet is overdue. Once the hours are submitted, further reminders are not sent for new entries. Approvers are notified of comments on sheets they review.

Filters on the approval tabs are timesheet owner, Team, and time period (this week through last quarter, or a custom range). The tabs themselves are To Review, Changes requested, Approved, and All. Help also says you can have more than one approval request for the same period.

Owners and admins disable the whole process from Approval Settings, then Disable time approvals.

Lock the week you intend to invoice, and leave the current week unlocked. A submitted sheet cannot be edited by the person who tracked the time until it is withdrawn or sent back.

For a freelancer, My timesheet plus a billable flag is often enough, and Unlimited's 40 advanced uses may cover a light month. For a client services team that needs a manager to approve Friday's hours, budget for Business before you promise that approval step. The ClickUp review is the wider product note if time tracking is only one reason you are here.

Frequently asked questions

Does ClickUp have timesheets?

Yes. Timesheets Hub shows time tracked across the Workspace. Open it from Global Navigation, or from More, and pin it if you want it to stay visible.

Are ClickUp timesheet approvals on the free plan?

No. Help lists submitting a timesheet, requesting changes, and approving timesheets as unavailable on Free Forever and Unlimited. Business includes 100 uses. Business Plus and Enterprise include the feature without that cap.

Who can see all timesheets in ClickUp?

Workspace owners and admins. The All timesheets tab is limited to those roles. Members see their own timesheet. Guests can submit time when time tracking is enabled for them, and they cannot view everyone's sheets.

What happens when you submit a ClickUp timesheet?

Time entries lock. Status becomes Pending until an approver approves it or requests changes. Approved entries stay locked. Owners and admins can still edit locked and approved entries.

Can you set a weekly capacity on a timesheet?

Yes. The settings icon has a Weekly Hours field. A daily capacity dropdown is on Business Plus and above. Dates with no scheduled capacity, such as Workspace holidays, show 00h 00m.
