Short answer
ClickUp dashboards turn task data into cards you can filter and share. Free Forever includes 60 dashboard uses, Unlimited includes 100, and Business includes unlimited uses. Charts, billable reports and sprint cards start on Business.
ClickUp dashboards are reports built from the tasks you already track. You add cards for overdue work, assignees, time, milestones or sprint pace, then filter and share that view. Free Forever includes 60 dashboard uses, Unlimited includes 100, and Business includes unlimited uses. Most of the cards teams actually want start on Unlimited or Business, so the plan matters as much as the layout.
If you are still deciding where work should live, start with how to use ClickUp. The ClickUp hub links pricing, views and use cases from one page.
What are ClickUp dashboards?
ClickUp Help describes Dashboards as a way to turn Workspace data, such as task info, into a visual report. You use them for personal progress, tracked time and project performance. They also work in the ClickUp mobile app.
You can create a Dashboard from scratch or from a template, and you can add a Dashboard view on a Space, Folder or List so the report sits next to the work. Dashboards Hub and the AI Command Bar are where you find and search them.
Cards are the pieces on the canvas. Click + Card, pick a card, and set its source. A Dashboard can hold up to 100 cards. A Dashboard or Overview can hold up to 500 rows of cards. Past 100 cards you cannot add or duplicate another until you remove one.
Two modes keep editing separate from reading. View mode lets you refresh the Dashboard and open a card full screen. Edit mode is where you add, resize, move and share cards. ClickUp Help says you will not see Edit mode on a Dashboard that was created from a template.
Dashboards can auto refresh every 30 minutes. You turn auto refresh on per Dashboard. You can also refresh one card. Refreshing the Dashboard does not refresh AI cards. Those are refreshed on their own.
Templates in Help, and the plans that include them:
| Template | What it is for | Plan |
|---|---|---|
| Simple Dashboard | Daily tasks and priorities | All plans |
| AI Team Center and AI Personal Center | AI cards for team or personal visibility | All plans. AI cards need the Everything AI add-on or AI credits |
| Time Tracking | Time-tracking metrics | Business and above |
| Project Management | A closer look at projects | Business and above |
| Sprint Reporting | Agile sprint reporting. Only when the List you choose is a sprint. ClickUp also creates this view when a new sprint is created | Business and above |
Sprint cards themselves are covered in ClickUp for software development.
Which ClickUp dashboard cards are on each plan?
ClickUp sorts cards into four groups. Free cards are on every plan. Standard cards start on Unlimited. Advanced cards start on Business. AI cards need the Everything AI add-on or AI credits, and Help lists them on every base plan once you have that add-on. Brain AI, the entry add-on in our pricing data, starts at $9 per user/month.
Many free cards belong on Home, not on a Dashboard. Agenda, My Work and Assigned to me are Home cards. On a Dashboard, the free set is thinner: AI cards, plus cards such as Most Popular, My Trending Work and New Content. If you expected bar charts on Free Forever, they are not there.
Standard cards, from Unlimited upward, are the practical set for a team that is not ready for Business:
- Overdue Tasks, Tasks Due Soon, and counts of tasks completed, closed or in progress
- Tasks by Assignee, Priority Breakdown, and totals for Urgent, High, Normal, Low and no priority
- Task List, Portfolio, Milestones and Goals
- Time Reporting, plus the legacy Time Estimated and Time Tracked cards
- Workload by Status, Who's Behind, and Open Assigned Comments
Advanced cards, from Business upward, are the ones people mean when they say reporting:
- Bar Chart, Pie Chart, Line Chart and Battery Chart
- Calculation, Search, and Cumulative Flow
- Cycle Time, Lead Time, and Total Time in Status
- Billable Report and Timesheet
- Sprint Burndown, Sprint Burnup, Sprint Velocity Chart and Sprint Task Report
Time Tracked as a data point on bar, pie and battery charts is how Help says you report billing and sprint planning. Those three charts are Business cards, so the chart form of time reporting waits for that plan. The Time Reporting card itself is a standard card, so it starts on Unlimited.
Calculation cards can show at most 25,000 tasks. Time tracking cards do not support mixed filters. When someone leaves the Workspace, their time entries stay on the time tracking cards.
How can teams and agencies use ClickUp dashboards?
Build one Dashboard per question. A single page with every card gets ignored. These three match cards ClickUp actually ships.
A delivery Dashboard for a small team. On Unlimited, add Overdue Tasks, Tasks by Assignee, a Task List filtered to this week's due dates, and Milestones. Portfolio can list the Folders or Lists you care about and show progress across them. That is enough for a Monday check without a chart.
An agency client view. Agencies often keep one Folder per client, as described in ClickUp for agencies. A Portfolio card can sit across those Folders. Time Reporting shows tracked time, which is the bridge to billing. The fuller picture, Billable Report and Timesheet, is on Business. ClickUp Help also places marking a time entry as billable on Business and above. ClickUp time tracking notes that Free Forever treats native time tracking as a trial, so confirm the cap in your Workspace before a client report depends on it.
A sprint Dashboard. On Business, add Sprint Burndown, Sprint Velocity and Sprint Burnup from the Sprints card group. Velocity can cover the last 3 to 10 sprints. Burndown uses the forecast you locked when you confirmed the sprint. This template is only available when the List is a sprint.
| Question | Cards that answer it | Plan those cards need |
|---|---|---|
| What is late, and who owns it? | Overdue Tasks, Tasks by Assignee, Task List | Unlimited |
| Are client projects moving? | Portfolio, Milestones, Workload by Status | Unlimited |
| How many hours did we track? | Time Reporting | Unlimited |
| What is billable, and what is the timesheet? | Billable Report, Timesheet | Business |
| Are we going to finish the sprint? | Sprint Burndown, Sprint Velocity, Sprint Burnup | Business |
| How has status or priority changed over time? | Status Over Time, Priority Over Time, line and bar charts | Business |
You can filter the whole Dashboard at once, and you can add a filter on a single card. Filtering options differ by card. A time-based card can show how priority, time estimates or Sprint Points changed across a project.
monday.com is the alternative if the team wants colorful boards and client-friendly visuals and will pay for that from the start. Work Management Basic is about $9 per seat/month billed annually. ClickUp is the better fit when the Dashboard should read the same tasks, Docs and time entries you already use, at $7 per user/month on Unlimited billed annually.
How many ClickUp dashboards can you use?
Help separates "uses" from "how many Dashboards you are allowed to keep." The published limit is a use count:
| Plan | Dashboard uses | Scheduled report uses |
|---|---|---|
| Free Forever | 60 | 40 |
| Unlimited | 100 | 40 |
| Business | Unlimited | 40 |
| Business Plus | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Enterprise | Unlimited | Unlimited |
A dashboard use is any of these: create a Dashboard, create a Dashboard view, view a Dashboard, add a card, edit a card, remove a card, or remove a Dashboard. They do not reset. A team on Free Forever can burn the pool by opening the same Dashboard often, not only by building new ones.
Scheduled reports send a copy of a Dashboard on a schedule. Help says they are gradually rolling out to all Workspaces. One use is counted each time an email goes out, no matter how many recipients are on it. A report sent to ten people on Monday and Friday is two uses that week. Those uses do not reset either. Scheduled reports also count as active automations and count toward monthly automation usage. Prices for the plans themselves were checked in October 2026: Unlimited is $7 per user/month billed annually ($10 monthly), and Business is $12 billed annually ($19 monthly). The comparison of Free and Unlimited, including when reporting is the reason to pay more, is in ClickUp Free vs Unlimited.
How do you share a ClickUp dashboard?
Members and admins can create Dashboards and add cards. Guests cannot. A guest sees a Dashboard only when it is shared with them, and only with view permission. They also see a card only if they can open the tasks, Lists, Folders or Subfolders inside that card. That is the control that matters for clients: share the client List, then share the Dashboard, and leave internal Lists off both.
Comment-only and view-only guests cannot change the date range on Timesheet and Time Reporting cards. Anyone who can open the Dashboard can use drill-down on bar, pie and battery charts, and can save the Dashboard as a PDF.
Exporting a single card is separate, and it is on Business and above. Standard export formats in Help are PDF, PNG, JPEG, SVG and CSV. Billable Report, Timesheet, Time Reporting and Worked On export as CSV only.
Sharing a Dashboard is not the same as giving someone a seat. Guests who only view what you share are the usual way to show a client status without putting them in every List. If a card looks empty to a guest, check the location permission before you rebuild the card.
What should you build first?
Start with one Dashboard and four cards, on the plan you already have.
On Free Forever, treat the 60 uses as a trial of the canvas, not as a reporting system. The useful task cards are not on that plan. Move to Unlimited when you need Overdue Tasks, Portfolio, Tasks by Assignee and Time Reporting. Move to Business when you need charts, a billable report, a timesheet or sprint velocity. Enterprise is custom pricing.
Skip AI cards until someone will read them. They need the AI add-on or AI credits, and they do not refresh with the rest of the Dashboard.
A workable first page for a delivery team on Unlimited is Overdue Tasks, Tasks by Assignee, a Task List for the next seven days, and one Portfolio or Milestones card. An agency that bills from tracked time should assume Business if the client report has to be a Billable Report or a Timesheet export. The plan-by-plan prices are in ClickUp pricing, and the product as a whole is in the ClickUp review.
