Short answer

The ClickUp Google Calendar integration is on every plan and uses a personal connection only. Dated tasks can sync to a Google Calendar you own, not a shared one. Google events show in ClickUp, and they do not create tasks.

The ClickUp Google Calendar integration puts dated work on a calendar you already check, and it can show your Google events next to those tasks inside ClickUp. It is available on every plan. The connection is personal: nobody else in the Workspace can open your Google Calendar through it. Guests and limited members can use it. You may have to sign in again if your organization's Google security policy asks for it.

This is the setup detail behind the short calendar row in ClickUp integrations. Prices in this guide were checked in October 2026. The ClickUp hub links the neighboring guides.

What does the ClickUp Google Calendar integration do?

ClickUp Help lists one connection type for Google Calendar: personal. There is no Workspace connection that shares your calendar with the rest of the team.

Help groups the features like this.

FeatureWhat Help says it does
Events in ClickUpSee and update Google Calendar events in Planner, and show those events on your Calendar views
Tasks out to GoogleSync tasks from a Space, Folder, Subfolder, or List to a Google Calendar
Link previewsA pasted Google Calendar link can preview in a task description, comment, Doc, or Chat message
AutomationsGoogle Calendar triggers and actions, after the integration is connected
Command BarCommands to open Google Calendar, show the schedule, or start a meeting
Brain and AgentsGoogle Calendar tools in Agents and Brain, after the account is connected

The Command Bar and Brain items sit next to ClickUp AI. AI is a separate add-on, from $9 per user/month in our tool data. Read ClickUp AI before you treat those commands as part of the free calendar sync. A pasted Google Calendar link can also preview in a task description, comment, Doc, or Chat message.

How do you sync ClickUp tasks to Google Calendar?

Connect Google Calendar from the App Center first. If you see "No Calendars for this user," Help says to disable an ad blocker and authorize again. If Google blocks the authorization, check that the Google account is allowed to grant access.

Then:

  1. In the App Center, open Google Calendar.
  2. Next to Sync tasks to calendar, click Manage.
  3. Click Add sync.
  4. Select a source, a destination, and filters.
  5. Click Add sync.
  6. Click Add if you need another sync.

With the default settings, Help says tasks are created as busy events. That is why Help recommends a new Google Calendar for the sync.

You cannot sync ClickUp tasks to a shared Google Calendar. Only calendars in Google's My Calendars section are available.

Once the account is connected, Google events can also appear on Calendar views:

  1. Open a Calendar view.
  2. In the right sidebar, open Your calendars. Expand the sidebar if that section is hidden.
  3. Select the Google Calendar to show.

Help says that selection syncs events to all of your Calendar views. The integration stays personal, so those events are yours to see.

A few behaviors surprise people who expected a full two-way task edit:

  • New Google events show on Calendar views in the Space, Folder, Subfolder, or List. They do not create a ClickUp task.
  • Changes you make to the event in Google Calendar show on the calendar in ClickUp. They do not update the related ClickUp task.
  • Google Calendar shows the synced tasks as 30-minute blocks, whatever the real length of the task is.
  • Help also says Google Calendar tasks will not sync into ClickUp.
Create the sync on a new calendar you own. A shared team calendar cannot receive ClickUp tasks, and busy blocks on your main calendar hide real meetings.

Which tasks show up on the ClickUp Google Calendar sync?

Help's table is the filter. Read both columns before you debug a missing event.

Tasks that syncTasks that do not sync
All tasks in the location you picked, or only the tasks assigned to you there, depending on the filterFuture recurring tasks. Only the current instance appears
Tasks with a start date, a due date, or both. No time means an all-day event. A due date alone syncs starting one hour beforeTasks with no due date, or with a due date in the past
Name, start, and due date updates. Help says these can take several minutesTasks with no start date, or with a start date more than 60 days ahead
Tasks in a Closed status

The two columns overlap in a way that is easy to miss. The sync column says a start date or a due date is enough, and a due-date-only task begins one hour before it is due. The other column also lists tasks that have no start date. If a due-date-only task never appears, add a start date inside the 60-day window and keep the due date today or later.

Closed is not the same as Done. ClickUp custom statuses explains the difference. A task you moved to Closed drops off this sync.

ClickUp recurring tasks still work on every plan. Google Calendar shows only the current instance, not future ones. On Unlimited and above, Calendar view inside ClickUp can show future recurring tasks that have not been created yet. That option is separate from the Google sync.

If you disconnect and connect again, Help says the old events stay in Google until you delete them. Removing the Google account is broader than this app: Help says it is removed from the whole Workspace, which can also affect email sent from ClickUp and files from Google Drive. To disconnect, open Google Calendar in the App Center, use the menu next to Connected, and confirm Disconnect.

How do Google Calendar Automations differ from the sync?

An automation can create or change a Google event from a ClickUp trigger, or create ClickUp work when a Google event changes. Connect the integration first. An owner or admin must turn on the Automation ClickApp. Guests cannot set automations up.

You can try Google Calendar Automations on every plan. Help says unlimited use is on the Business plan and above. That is separate from the general automation caps on the pricing page: Free Forever lists 5 active rules and 100 executions, and Unlimited lists 500 active rules and 1,000 executions.

From a List, Folder, Subfolder, or Space, open the robot icon and create an automation. Pick a Google Calendar trigger or action, choose the Google account, then set the conditions. Help documents two triggers. Each one needs an account and a calendar.

TriggerWhen it fires
Event created or updatedA calendar event is created or updated
Event cancelledA calendar event is cancelled

Actions on the ClickUp side of those triggers include Super Agents, Do anything with AI, Create List, and Create task. Actions on the Google side are Create event, Update event, and Delete event.

Create event needs a calendar, a title, and start and end dates and times. An empty start date uses the current date. All-day overrides the times. Repeat can be none, daily, weekly, or monthly. Attendees can include assignees, followers, the task creator, the person who triggered it, or anyone in the Workspace. Conferencing adds a Google Hangout only, and only when Hangouts is enabled. Update and Delete search event names for exact keywords and, if several match, use the earliest event.

The general automation model is in ClickUp automations.

Which plan includes ClickUp Google Calendar?

The integration itself is on every plan, including Free Forever. You do not need Business to see a dated task on a personal Google Calendar.

NeedWhere it sits
Connect Google Calendar and sync dated tasksEvery plan. Personal connection only
Guests and limited membersHelp says they can use the integration
Try Google Calendar AutomationsEvery plan, after an owner or admin enables the Automation ClickApp
Unlimited Google Calendar AutomationsBusiness and above
AI add-on, if you want the Brain sideFrom $9 per user/month

Free Forever is $0, with 60MB of storage and limits on Spaces, forms, and whiteboards. Unlimited is $7 per user/month billed annually ($10 monthly). Business is $12 billed annually ($19 monthly). Enterprise is custom. The plan table is in ClickUp pricing.

Sync one List to a new calendar you own, put a start date and a due date on one open task, and wait a few minutes. Add an automation only after that task shows up as a 30-minute event.

Frequently asked questions

Does ClickUp integrate with Google Calendar?

Yes. ClickUp Help says the Google Calendar integration is on every plan. It is a personal connection, so other people in the Workspace cannot open your Google Calendar through it. Guests and limited members can use it.

Can you sync ClickUp tasks to a shared Google Calendar?

No. ClickUp Help says you cannot sync ClickUp tasks to a shared Google Calendar. Use a calendar under My Calendars. Help recommends a new calendar, because synced tasks are created as busy events.

Do Google Calendar events become ClickUp tasks?

No. Events created in Google Calendar do not create a task. Editing an event in Google Calendar does not update the related ClickUp task. You can open the event from ClickUp and edit it in Google.

Why is a ClickUp task missing from Google Calendar?

Help says closed tasks, tasks with a past due date, future recurring instances, and tasks with a start date more than 60 days out do not sync. A task needs a start date, a due date, or both. Updates can take several minutes.

Are Google Calendar Automations free?

You can try them on every plan. ClickUp Help says unlimited use is on the Business plan and above. An owner or admin must turn on the Automation ClickApp, and guests cannot set automations up.
