Short answer

Notion Plus costs $10 per seat per month and Business costs $20 per seat per month, which adds Notion's AI agent and meeting notes. Enterprise is custom. The free plan is for individuals, with 5MB file uploads, 7-day page history, up to 10 guests, and a limited block trial once a workspace has 2 or more members.

Notion Plus is $10 per seat per month. Business is $20 per seat per month and adds Notion's AI agent and meeting notes. Enterprise is custom. The free plan is a real workspace for one person, and it is a limited trial once a second member joins.

Those figures are from our tool data, checked in October 2026. Notion advertises savings on yearly billing, so the annual rate at checkout can differ from the monthly figure above. Compare them on the official Notion pricing page before you add seats. This guide is the bill. The product is in the Notion review and the Notion profile.

How much does Notion cost?

Notion charges per seat. A person who needs a full place in the workspace is a seat. Our data does not split a separate monthly and annual number for Plus or Business. It lists the seat price and tells you to compare the yearly rate at checkout, because Notion advertises savings on yearly billing.

PlanPrice in our dataWho it is for
Free$0Individuals. Workspaces with 2 or more members get a limited block trial
Plus$10 per seat/monthTeams that have outgrown the individual plan
Business$20 per seat/monthTeams that want Notion's AI agent and meeting notes
EnterpriseCustomOrganizations with custom admin and security needs

There is no unlimited-member free tier in our data. One person can work on the free plan. A second member changes the terms.

What does the free Notion plan include?

The free plan is aimed at an individual. Our limits are specific:

  • File uploads are capped at 5MB.
  • Page history is 7 days.
  • You can invite up to 10 guests.
  • A workspace with 2 or more members gets a limited block trial.

The product around those caps is still Notion: pages, databases, and the views our tool profile lists for databases (table, board, calendar, timeline, and gallery), plus templates, comments, and real-time collaboration, inside the free-plan limits. A longer look at the free tier alone is in Is Notion free?.

5MB uploads are the limit people hit first if they drop screenshots, decks, or video into pages. 7-day history is the limit that matters if you need to restore an older version of a page after a week. Guests are people outside the seat count, up to the cap of 10 on the free plan. They are not a way to add a second full teammate without leaving the free terms. The block trial for workspaces of 2 or more is the signal to budget for Plus if the team will stay.

What do Plus and Business add?

Plus, at $10 per seat per month, is the first paid tier in our data. It is the plan most small teams land on once two people need a shared workspace without the free-plan trial limits.

Business, at $20 per seat per month, is the tier our data ties to Notion's AI agent and meeting notes. If you want that agent, budget Business, not Plus. Confirm the current AI allowance on Notion's pricing page. Our data does not list a separate AI add-on price the way some other tools do.

Enterprise is custom. Use it when you need the admin and security conversation Notion sells to larger organizations. We do not list a public seat price for it.

Database features that teams use on these plans, such as boards and timelines, are part of why people try to run projects in Notion. They work for light to moderate project tracking. Dependencies, workload planning, and native time tracking are thinner here than in a dedicated project tool. That is a product limit, not a discount. Read the Notion alternatives page if the docs are right and the project tools are not.

How does Notion pricing compare with ClickUp?

ClickUp's prices, from the same October 2026 check: Free Forever is $0, with unlimited members, 60MB of storage, and limits on Spaces, forms, and whiteboards. Unlimited is $7 per user per month billed annually, or $10 monthly. Business is $12 per user per month billed annually, or $19 monthly. Enterprise is custom. ClickUp's AI features are a separate add-on starting at $9 per user per month.

Seat math depends on how you bill. A five-person team on Notion Plus is 5 times $10 if you pay the rate in our table. The same five people on ClickUp Unlimited are 5 times $7 on annual billing, or 5 times $10 on monthly billing. Notion's yearly checkout can narrow that gap. Open both pricing pages with your seat count and your billing period before you decide on price alone.

The products are not substitutes. Notion is the stronger place for notes, wikis, and databases. ClickUp is the stronger place for task dependencies, workload, time tracking, and several project views in one workspace. If the work is mostly documents, paying for Notion is the coherent choice. If the work is mostly projects with deadlines, ClickUp's free plan already includes unlimited members, which Notion's free plan does not. The side-by-side is in ClickUp vs Notion. Docs inside ClickUp, for teams that want writing next to tasks, are in ClickUp Docs.

Match the plan to the job, then the price. A docs-heavy team that buys ClickUp to save on seats, or a deadline-heavy team that buys Notion because the editor feels nicer, usually rebuilds the setup six weeks later. How to choose project management software is the longer version of that decision.

Who should pay for Notion, and who should look elsewhere?

Pay for Notion Plus when two or more people need a shared wiki or a database tracker and the free-plan trial is in the way. Move to Business when meeting notes and Notion's AI agent are part of the reason you are paying. Stay on the free plan if you are one person and 5MB uploads plus 7-day history are enough.

Look at ClickUp, and at the free-plan notes in Is ClickUp free?, when the team needs more than pages: assignees, dependencies, a workload view, or time on the task. ClickUp Unlimited at $7 per user per month on annual billing is the first paid step there. ClickUp pricing breaks down Free Forever, Unlimited, and Business.

Asana is the other common comparison for teams that want a polished project tool and are less focused on a wiki. Asana's free Personal plan is limited to 2 users, and Starter is $10.99 per user per month billed annually. Those figures, and the rest of that bill, are in Asana pricing and Is Asana free?. Asana is often chosen for a cleaner rollout. It is not the lower seat price next to ClickUp Unlimited.

None of these numbers include tax, and Notion's yearly discount is something you confirm at checkout rather than from a single list price in our data. Recheck the Notion pricing page on the day you add the second seat.
