Short answer

ClickUp Embed view places another website, or HTML from an app, in the Views Bar next to your tasks. Free Forever includes 40 uses, Unlimited includes 100, and Business and above include unlimited uses. Guests cannot use this view.

ClickUp Embed view keeps another tool on the same screen as the work. You add a view, paste a URL or a block of HTML, and the page sits in the Views Bar beside List, Board, and the other layouts. Free Forever includes 40 uses. Unlimited includes 100. Business, Business Plus, and Enterprise include unlimited uses. Guests cannot use the view.

Help's reason for the feature is practical: fewer tabs, one place to look. A sheet, a calendar, or a short video can sit on the location people already open. The product tour is on the ClickUp hub. Prices in this guide were checked in October 2026.

What is ClickUp Embed view?

An Embed view is a window, not a copy of the data. The tasks stay in ClickUp. The embedded page stays in the other product. Editing a cell in an embedded Google Sheet edits that sheet. It does not, by itself, create a ClickUp task. If you need rows to become tasks, that is an import or an integration, which is a different setup.

Help says you create the view with a URL or with HTML. The supported options named on the embed article are:

OptionNote from Help
Airtable BasesListed as a supported option
Google SheetsURL embed
Google CalendarsURL embed. Syncing the calendar with tasks is a separate setup
YouTubeHelp uses a video link as the URL example
VimeoListed as a supported option
LoomListed as a supported option
MiroPublic links
TwitterListed under that name
InVisionListed as a supported option
Outlook CalendarListed as a supported option
Google FormsFile upload questions cannot be embedded

Help adds a specific Forms limit: if you add a File Upload question to a form that is already embedded, people using the form need to open it in a new tab. ClickUp's own forms are a different view. Those create tasks in a List. An embedded Google Form does not follow that path unless you build one yourself outside ClickUp.

The Anything option is on by default when you embed with a URL. You can type any address or pick an app icon. Help says some websites do not allow iframes, so a URL that opens in the browser can still show a blank view inside ClickUp. That is a property of the other site, and pasting the link again will not change it.

A separate Help article covers Embed cards on Dashboards. This guide stays on the view. Dashboards are the place for charts of ClickUp data. The embed view is the place for a live page you would otherwise keep in a bookmark.

Help's page views article also says Embed view can sit in Channels and direct messages, next to Docs, Dashboards, and Whiteboards. The same article points to HTML when you want more control, and it names Spotify, Airtable, and Typeform as HTML examples. Airtable Bases are already on the URL list above. For the other two, follow the HTML steps if a plain link stays blank.

How do you add a ClickUp Embed view?

URL and HTML start in the same modal and split after you pick the view.

To embed with a URL:

  1. Click + View in the Views Bar.
  2. Optional: check Private view, or Pin view.
  3. Select Any website.
  4. Name the view and adjust it from Customize on the right.
  5. Leave Anything on, then enter a URL or choose an app icon and enter the URL for that app.

To embed with HTML:

  1. Click + View in the Views Bar.
  2. Optional: check Private view, or Pin view.
  3. Select Any website. You can name the view from the Enter name field in the upper left.
  4. Select Embed HTML.
  5. Enter the HTML.

Private views follow the same plan rule as other views: unavailable on Free Forever and Unlimited, available on Business and above. Required views cannot be made private. Pinning the view in the Views Bar is available on every plan, which matters if this sheet is the page the team opens first.

Permissions on the view itself are narrower than on a List. Help's permissions article says Embed view is available to everyone except guests, and it lists two levels. Can manage means you can edit the view settings and delete the view. Can't manage means you can view it, copy it, and add it to favorites. You cannot edit the settings or delete it. For client access, share a Doc or a filtered List instead, using the pattern in guest access.

Private Embed views can be shared with people in the Workspace or with a link. Help marks that sharing as fully available during early access, with a note that future limits may apply.

Which plan includes ClickUp Embed view?

Help's views table is the source for the caps. That article does not publish which actions spend an Embed view use. It does publish the allowance.

PlanEmbed view
Free Forever40 uses
Unlimited100 uses
BusinessUnlimited uses
Business PlusUnlimited uses
EnterpriseUnlimited uses

ClickUp's pricing article says feature usage limits do not reset. Monthly limits, such as AI credits on paid plans and Automation actions, are the exception. When a usage limit is hit, the data you already created stays, and you cannot keep editing or adding with that feature until the Workspace is upgraded. An embedded sheet still exists in Google. What stops is further use of the ClickUp view.

Our price data, checked October 2026, lists Free Forever at $0, Unlimited at $7 per user per month billed annually ($10 monthly), and Business at $12 per user per month billed annually ($19 monthly). Enterprise is custom. Our data does not publish a Business Plus price. Plan notes are in ClickUp pricing.

Forty uses on Free Forever is enough to try one sheet on one List. A view the whole team opens every day belongs on a plan whose cap you have read. Confirm the current number on ClickUp's views limits page before you retire the browser tab.

When should you use an integration instead of Embed view?

Use Embed view when people need to see the other page while they update tasks: a tracker sheet, a published Loom, a public Miro board, a YouTube walkthrough on a process List. Use an integration when the other product should change ClickUp, or ClickUp should change the other product.

Google Calendar is the clearest split. An embedded Google Calendar shows the calendar. The Calendar integration syncs events with tasks. Both can be useful, and they are not substitutes. ClickUp Docs are the better home when the content is yours to edit: a brief, a wiki page, a checklist the team maintains. Notion is the stronger writing tool if the page is a long document and ClickUp is only there to host it. Embedding that page can still make sense when the writers will stay in Notion.

If the site blocks iframes, stop retrying the URL. Put the link in a Doc, or move the work into a native view. Trello is the easier board if you never need a second product inside the task screen. Asana is the more polished tracker if you want fewer view types to configure. Embed view is the reason to stay in ClickUp when the job is one screen for tasks and the sheet next to them. The ClickUp review covers the rest of that trade.
